In the real world
The temperature on the Moon is 252F - 325F. That's hot man!
No problem there there's no atmosphere.
No one ever talks about the average temperature of the Moon.
Is this the Black Ball or is it the Black Wall?
Comparing the surface heat of Earth and Mars is not straight to the point. The fact is It's to hot for life on Earth in some places.
But Earth is in the prefect position have equal areas of tundra and desert, maximizing the area for abundant live, generally speaking. My guess is it's the ocean glint that does it.
So you really need to compare Mars with the Moon. IMHO
