Globalization as seen by the Third World
A poll shows something that shouldn't surprise anyone: most of the hostility toward corporations and globalization in the Third World is from fat, comfortable leftists living in the lap of Western wealth. Not from the people actually affected.
Kind of like that relative sponging off you for the last year, the liberal-arts college dropout who rummages in your refrigerator while telling you that you don't do your job right, that your bourgeois values are too materialistic, and that Fidel Castro really knows how to run a country.
Most stories about how corporations "exploit" Third World workers never actually ask the workers what they think, or what they were doing before the factories arrived.
