Well, yes, last wednesday night! I went to the astronomy association near the town and discovered dozens upon dozens of visitors.
I should have tried to take my scope and find a (safe) place with a eastern free horizon, and enjoy it all by myself.
But, all this is more hype than anything. Amateur astronomers won't see much difference between this week and the previous weeks and the next ones, Mars' size won't change that much
