Twilight Zone was canceled after 1 season. Enterprise after 3?

Tonight's story was reasonably good. And in the wake of declining ratings last season, they've revved up the pace with military commando violence and T'Pal's enhanced Vulcan sensuality. The show that followed it last season, UPN's Twilight Zone (with Forrest Whitaker replacing Rod Serling) has been canceled after just 1 year though. Will Enterprise follow suit after this, its third, season? If so, what has happened to the magic of the Star Trek franchise? The latest movie, Star Trek X only made about $40 million domestically (by far the worst ever, and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home made triple that and in 1986 dollars too). Maybe there's too much competition now? Or perhaps the stories have gone stale? Or has humanity more or less chosen to retreat into fantasy (Lord of the Rings) now that space seems more difficult than previously promised?
