Perspective: Heat wave death toll was 15,000 in France last month
according to the latest estimate. To put that in perspective, France's population is about 60 million. The US population is about 291 million. Had a similar percentage of Americans died, the death toll would've been over 72,000, which is more than the US combat death tolls of the Korean and Vietnam wars combined. Funny how you're not saying much about that.
At the same time, an average of 44 Americans are victims of homocide every day. More people have died in Washington DC alone over the same time period than our forces in Iraq. Maybe we should give up on that quagmire, too.
