I still like my idea better: we live inside a super-old black hole, inside a super-universe that is so old it is undergoing heat death, with nothing but black holes, long-wave radiation, energy fields, fundamental particles, and other dark cryogenic materials floating around -- gradually being consumed by our expanding black hole.
