First of all Pete, I agree with you on the debt.
Now as to the CIA. I have read a lot about their double dealings and the murders done by paid operatives to clean up leaks from their dirty deeds. These are NOT the analysts or the ones at embassies. They hire the scum of the earth at times, just like cops will use murderers and drug runners as "informers". They'll even pay them and keep them out of jail. Nothing new about that. (then you have the crooked cops who USE these thugs for their own gain, and then they have the plausible "deniability" because of them. But by then, their rat is dead.)
But what really pissed me off about the CIA is their total lack of integrity towards the law and the American people. You can read about some of it's earliest deeds bringing high ranking Nazis into this country against the law AND the president in the late 40's and early 50's. This book SHOULD be a must read by every student of "demockracy".

As for it being like the State Department, well there's some real scum in their too, but I'm not about to even TOUCH that today.
