Archaeologists have found underwater evidence of Stone Age settlements off the coast of northeastern England, researchers said Friday.
A team from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne said it had accidentally found stone tools and arrowheads in the North Sea while diving to prepare for future excavations.
The archaeologists said the area where they found the artifacts had originally been dry land but had later become submerged.
