Wolfowitz was asserting that Al Qaeda was working with Saddam's loyalists in Iraq. That doesn't appear to be the case. It is certainly true that since the U.S. invasion, foreign zealots have been entering the country intent on confronting U.S. troops there. But there is still no evidence whatsoever that Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein were working together before or after the war. Fact is, Osama bin Laden despised the Iraqi regime for its secular government and its belligerence towards Iraq's Shiites and Kurds.
