It's looking more and more that the British are the reason Bush went to the UN in the first place.
This also might explain a statement Rumsfeld made at a press conference shortly before the war. He said something like "We're ready to go in alone." It was perceived as an ill-timed hurry-up. Maybe he really meant it.
