The source said first reports indicated that sentries saw a group of people approaching them through the darkness and called on the intruders to halt, then fired warning shots, hitting one person.

A relative said Abu Latifa he had been among 10 youngsters cutting the fence when soldiers spotted them and opened fire.

From Tom's link

Sounds like both sides could have been using young people in order to "create an incident". Yourish said "They were called upon to stop, and did not stop." but from what I understand of the Jerusalem Post item, there is no indication that the Isreali soldiers waited for the group to stop (maybe they did, but the article doesn't say so), and my idea of a "warning shot" is not one that hits and kills someone.

What waypoint is this on thee roadmap?
