There has been what appears to be a not so subtle change in the position of France and Germany on Iraq sovereignty. Last week Chirac called for a transfer of power to the Iraqis in 30 days in exchange for French support in the UN and in Iraq. This changed Thursday to months instead of years.

German Chancellor Schroeder went even further by alluding to Iraqi elections in 2004.

A UN resolution and broadened support from EU would be seen as a victory for the Bush administration. I'll believe it when I see it.

Meanwhile the Democrat's Bush bashing festival continues to grow more ugly every day. This is not a wise strategy but who can tell them anything. If they keep it up it will make last November 5 seem like a nice day in the neighborhood.
