Nice editing of the news, leaving the meat of the piece out that directs the guilt to "others". After going to the trouble, one wonders why you would post your source -- unless you're expecting everyone to be too lazy to read it.
More like "Italian Diplomat Playing Chicken -- at the Cost of His Driver's Life".
Reporting news is one thing. Sensationalizing facts and assuming immediate guilt from a single article -- particularly from Reuters, Ltd, and posted by the infamous Washington Post -- is just plain stupid. IMO, Cordone should be pulled from the country, and replaced by someone with a little sense.
Until you don the mantle of the Infantry and haul your tired butt out onto the front lines to be shot at, just try real hard to keep your idiot comments to yourself, okay?
Many Iraqis accuse U.S. troops of being too quick to open fire and failing to follow rules of engagement.
In times of peace, breaking ranks in a military convoy is against policy, and for any civilian vehicle to approach and threaten such a convoy in a combat environment is begging to get shot. Maybe for some, Iraq is just a game. Well, we're not playing around, and bullets really do hurt.
I dunno. Seems pretty obvious to me -- but then, I've been there.
Yes, when the good guys do something stupid, they get shot, and the bullets will come from either side of the fight.
Cheers,
Dan

Please note that I am not attacking the story -- just you.
