Not good news
There is a theory I have seen, and found plausible, that the mini-Ice Age during the era after the long Ice Age was due to a melt releasing huge quantities of fresh water into the Atlantic and screwing up the natural worldwide deep ocean current flow. It doesn't take much redirection of these flows to change climate significantly.

The melt you discuss is a long way from the upwelling south of Greenland, but these things bear watching.
