The science community in general and space community specifically has been horrified with the idiotic policy decisions that wrecked such havoc on NASA at the start of the Orange POS’s second term. I was hoping when Isaacman finally took the reins he would more aggressively reverse the damage but I suppose there's only so much he can do after such a bloodbath. The fact NASA put out an RFI shows they understand the mistake at least. Chang-7's delay until 2027 allows for a little time, though not nearly enough, to try and catch back up in the optical laser communications.
I really wish you would consider proposing to the powers that be your returning to NASA conditionally if they brought back your program. Lots of lost time and momentum for sure, but you know what needs to be done and the sooner it's started the better.
