Leftist professor thinks liberals should secede to Canada. I only wish he was serious.

So, whadda think? Personally, I think Northern California should leave and Southern California should stay. There would be some upheaval as the productive people stream out to the "red" states before the final secession, and the parasites looking for a free lunch stream into the "blue" states, but that shouldn't last long.

We really don't want to do it by county (below,) as that would be isolating the liberals in small enclaves, and they would start seeing themselves as oppressed, like Palestinians.

Again, as with East and West Germany, North and South Korea, Taiwan and China, and other near-identical cultures split in two and set along different paths, we will have the perfect laboratory experiment. The People's Republic of Canada, and an America with freedom from socialist coercion for the first time in many decades. I give Canada about ten years before the Wall goes up on the border, and the kill zones are set up. In fifteen years, Canada will be having to import wood.

I suppose we would have to start an airlift to New Hampshire.

He teaches American culture, folks. Kind of like having Goebbels running a yeshiva.

Of course, he could just move to Canada, but I doubt he'd be hauling down the same salary there at the "good and affordable colleges and universities."
