The obsolete 1973 Buick Internet, replaced by PlanetLab this decade?
Very interesting article for those interested in the net. Cisco's router monopoly about to be replaced later this decade by a distributed net of general purpose computers runing much smarter SW. Today's routers (oversimplified) basicly exchange tables of next route hops and use the tables to blindly forward your packets to the next destination. No really smart route finding, traffic avoidance and no protection against denial of service attacks, worms etc.
