RE:
1) Obviously false
2) No, but it appears responsible for a sorry response as evidenced by a lack of similar severity in nearbye countries.
3) Case in point a government decision contributed to the severity of the problem.
4) This sounds doubtful. We have heatwaves in the US too Raoul.
5) Another point against Chirac. The death toll in other countries in the same area was not anywhere close.
6) True, but they don't die by the thousands in other countries. We have things called phones and 911 in the US. I'm pretty sure you have the first in France too and thought other countries had systems similar to 911 as well. Is France more backward than I thought? Why didn't all as many people die in nearbye European countries? Has France not even bothored to ask this questions?
7) So after 3,000 died in 15 days France let another 11,808 die over 15 more days? That sounds even worse than what I thought. 1 week of deaths would cause an uproar here let alone 4 weeks.
I believe this is more civilians than were killed in the Iraq war Raoul. We took precautions to minimize civilian casualties. Did the French government do anything or is inaction to avoid blame for anything that goes wrong standard French government practice?

Mark
