Space/Science » in reply to FYI - DARK DUNE SPOTS: POSSIBLE BIOMARKERS ON MARS?

Old nonsense

Sheesh! This article is really a poster presentation from last Spring's Lunar and Planetary Science Conference. Its been floating around since Mid-March of this year. Undrestandably, its been appropriately ignored. The gist of their "hypothesis" that dark dune spots that form as the martian summer approaches the southern polar regions are evidence of life on Mars, instead of just evaporating frost.

The idea is just plain silly and not to be taken seriously. I am surprised you would regard this rather amateurish presentation serious, Barry. Here is the original source:

EVIDENCE FOR WATER BY MARS ODYSSEY IS COMPATIBLE WITH A BIOGENIC DDS-FORMATION PROCESS.
