Especially in light of what the Nazi symbol is...

The Nazi symbol is an Indian good luck symbol - a symbol thousands of years older than the Nazis or anyone else who used it later. In the turn of the last century in Russia, the upper classes would carve the markings on jewelry boxes, embroider it into scarves and handkerchiefs, etc. It had been brought to europe after the British colonial era as a good luck icon and found steady popularity among the more educated upper classes.

That the Nazis made the symbol infamous is unfortunate. Someone likely suggested the symbol to impart good luck to the National Socialist movement. But the symbol is just that - a symbol. Sadly, I suspect they could have unfurled the red hammer & sickle flag and it would have gone largely unnoticed.

Through movies, television and print - people have been conditioned to despise an old Indian good luck symbol and in this instance have illustrated a visceral reaction to a harmless historical performance.

It reminds me of the European laws that forbid the sale of any item with the symbol. So all historical magazines, documents or pictures have become black market items. Europe is pretty stupid in these matters - because psychologically everyone knows the way you get people to want something is to outlaw or forbid it! So all these closet Nazi collectors from France to Norway, covertly buy this worthless stuff because it is illegal. This imparts value to it. The skinheads and racists thrive on the appearance of being the oppressed. It's Nazi Germany all over again among the eastern youth thanks to the politically correct socialists of France and Co who feed hatred with suppression.

Let the Indians have their symbol back. It's proven that it's luck is not the lasting sort.
