WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The CIA official in charge of looking for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq is scheduled to brief lawmakers on Thursday in closed-door hearings on Capitol Hill, but U.S. officials said he was not expected to reveal any "smoking gun."
David Kay, a former U.N. weapons inspector, was scheduled to appear before the House Intelligence Committee in the morning and the Senate Intelligence Committee in the afternoon.
Kay was expected to testify that his team -- the Pentagon's 1,500 member Iraq Survey Group -- has not found any chemical or biological weapons, but has found so-called dual-use facilities that could be converted to weapons production on short notice, U.S. officials said.
