Another writer weighs in on the subject, joining an ever-increasing crowd, including Rep. Jim Marshall and others.
The media refuses to face a simple truth: unrelieved negative reporting on Iraq is playing, however unintentionally, into the strategy of those blowing up our soldiers over there.
The objective of the guerillas is to ruin our political will, since they know they don't have a chance militarily. The record of this strategy in other wars has often been a successful one, and the incessant "we're LOSING! We're LOSING!" drumbeat of the leftist media is exactly what they are looking for.
To put it even more bluntly, the media couldn't be doing a better job of helping the guerillas out if they were actually being paid by them.
Does this mean not reporting soldiers getting blown up? Of course not. But would it kill the New York Times to run a story about some good news once in a while?
Media vs. the truth in Iraq
