re: To do or not.
Perhaps intelligent machines are the only way human intelligence can be passed on and spread throughout the universe. The human body will not be able to survive the long trips required to go to other stars, so our intelligence will be put into machines. There will also have to be a great improvement in the durability of machines to make this so. Renewable power sources, and self-replicating and replacement of worn out parts can make it possible. It's easy to say but no one yet knows how to do this. Time will tell, but is time on our side?
