Well, that is not exactly why the U.S. invades.
Iran needs to let us know when the revolution actually starts, and we'll support the most democratic side -- in this case, likely the revolutionaries. If all the revolutionaries are going to do about the current regime is whine, we'll feel for them, but not much else.
On the other hand, the current regime is into terrorist support, and shows signs of a productive nuke program.
