Yeah, Mike Kinsley hates Bush. Wanna make something out of it?

The 2000 election obviously still eats at these guys like a worm in the gut.

What's funny is if the situation had been reversed, and Gore had won the electoral vote with Bush taking more popular votes, Kinsley would have wrapped himself in the Constitution and heaped great praise on the concept of the electoral college. It would be inconceivable to him that Gore's presidency might be "illegitimate." Someone pointing out Bush got more popular votes and should have won would be looked at like he came from Mars.

Now, they're setting themselves up for the Great Payback in 2004.

Hey, I remember the Great Payback of 2002* and how that turned out, especially in Florida, specifically targeted by the Democrats with every political weapon at their disposal.

As Bush might say, Bring it on.
