before the war we were inumdated with sob stories of how the UN sanctions were starving the Iraqi people...
Now the left wants to pretend that if we had only left sanctions in place, then all would have been fine: "See the sanctions were working...Sadam didn't have WMD...So the invasion was baseless..."
lets review:
the left & their willing accomplices in France, germany and elsewhere:
1. Wanted sanctions lifted
2. Were against stepping-up pressure on the Hussain regime
3. Were against the invasion when Hussain fought the UN inspections.
4. didn't want sanctions lifted after the invasion
5. have determined post-facto that Sadam posed no WMD threat
6. have concluded the the pre-war UN strategy was working
7. Want the UN more involved in Iraq
8. Want to turn over iraq immediatly to the Iraqi's
9. Want to stop David Kay and all Iraqi weapons inspection/destruction processes that are now taking place
10. State that they are for peace in the Middle East
11. Have blamed the Bush administration the whole way (review again steps 1 thru 10)
I'm sure I've missed a few steps...But there is more than one inconsistency here.

Another factor everyone forgets is how the left was harping on the failure of the UN sanctions.
