Upgrading

Well SM, most of us aren't as willing to wipe our hard drives as frequently as you and therefore the search for a better machine and a more reliable MS O/S goes on.

My box runs 24/7 and I am using it at least 8 hours a day. As the hd fills up performance flags and memory fatigue sets in. The idea of backing up all the data and reinstalling all the software is so depressing formating just isn't an appealing option.

On the other hand I have five year old (win98) and 3 year old (winXP) with original hd's. Three in four years seems like a lot.

I love new hardware and while my stuff is working fine at present, I have been compulsively pricing new desk tops for nearly a month now. So far the cold showers are working.
