But it is clear we are not seen as oppressors by the majority of Iraqis. It is clear from direct information I am getting that things in Iraq are much more positive than we have been led to believe.
That some are holding out for the good old days of terror rule by Saddam is no different from the sizable minority of Russians missing the USSR and the pleasant realities of Stalin, or evenhere in the South where there were in my childhood those who missed the 'good ole days' of the confederacy.
We have reached critical mass in Iraq and the country is going to build a civil society for the first time in many years, if not forever.
The carping about lacks in this aspect or that of the Iraq is just that:carping around the fringes.
