Current Events » in reply to Arnold and Ken Lay....a match made in Heaven?

re: Reality . . .

. . . again.

Sorry, Lindy, but the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights does not make the law in California, or anywhere else, and they should know by now that opening with shouts and demands on the new man in office is not the way to do business. In California, rudeness may well be the way of politics, but that is only due to the ousted man’s way of doing things, and Arnold is really too new to realize that this demand is nothing more than sweet talk, and the FTCR is going to lose every time. Schwarzenegger has a habit of turning a deaf ear to the shouters of the world. If they want answers, they should ask for them, not demand them.

"As Governor, you must explain to Californians what you were doing at that meeting, what information Ken Lay shared with you and how the meeting has influenced your thinking on energy issues."

In point of fact, Schwarzenegger was not governor at the time of the meeting, and is merely governor-elect today. Granted, it would be nice to know, but, without evidence of any wrongdoing on his part, hardly something that demands an explanation.

As for the gov-to-be’s “push for de-regulation”, try not to panic. He will be met head-on by Democrat legislatures, and I’m afraid anything the man tries -- good, bad, or indifferent to/for the people of California -- will be a stiff uphill battle from start to finish.

Of course you’ve got the man guilty of everything under the sun, so I have no doubt that this will fall to deaf ears as well, but why are we now attacking a man who’s not even in office yet? I mean, the piece posted looks like a quarter column buried in the middle of the paper (and I do wish page numbers were included in e-paper sites, just so the reader could properly quantify the media’s hype). Are you digging for these?

Just wondering,
Dan
