No comment on Mark's spin on this but...
I work very close to this new facility and know some of the staff scientists. I got a chance to tour it last week, and attend some of the opening cermonies this past Tuesday. Very impressive, and unique. Better understanding of how the exact mix of radiation in space affects living systems is critical to all long-term spaceflight beyond low earth orbit.
Glad to see this getting some pulicity!
