Great morning for observations!

Got up extra early to catch a few Orionids meteors. Only saw about 10 in an hour, but one really bright and long meteor within a degree of Pleiades was worth the effort.
I won't see comet Halley again in my life time but it's nice to its meteors from the earth passing through left over tail debris.

The bonus this morning was observing Shenzhou 5 rocket and it was moving fast. Became visible WNW at 29 degrees Alt. and bright, peaked at 80 degrees and in 2 minutes it was gone in the eastern sky but not before passing between a crescent moon and Jupiter. What was interesting about the pass was the mag. of Shenzhou 5 kept fading in and out like a beacon when it came close to the moon and Jupiter.

Great way to start the work day,
SteveS
