re: Uh-huh . . .

Too funny, Lindy.

To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition ...

Did not happen.

... turning the whole Arab world against us ...

Did not happen.

... and make a broken tyrant, into a latter-day Arab hero ...

Latter-day is anytime into the far-flung reaches of the future -- but, as yet, did not happen.

... assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a securely entrenched dictator and condemning them to fight in what would be an unwinnable urban guerrilla war. "

Did not happen.

What has happened, if you care at all, is that the U.S.-Led Coalition Forces are currently tied down with admin issues in Iraq, which will soon be turned over to U.S.-led Coalition Forces-trained Iraqi soldiers in the new Iraq Army. The land, homes, and citizens of Iraq threatened by Hussein & Co. will become their war. I know it’s seems like it’s taking forever for this to happen, but it’s only been a few months, and the people of Iraq have been under Hussein & Co. for literally decades. Bad things take time to go away, and the going away is always when the bad things show us their worst. Recall Clinton’s attempt at looting the White House at the end of his term.

You once stated, years ago, that you knew nothing of military tactics. What makes you think Andy Rooney is any better informed on the topic than you? He's merely a highly paid armchair critic -- of anything from pink eraser tips to Boston's underground freeway system.

Cheers,
Dan
