FIRST this:"I would give much more credit to Sam than RL. after all, Sam at least is curious about various phenomenon that occur in space and asked for clarification in areas that he did not thoroughly understand. R.L. on the other hand thinks he knows everything about science and at the same time is afraid to think about any scientific thoughts that have not been instilled into him by his teachers."
Johannes, I had to think outside what I was taught to get where I am... You dont get a degree parroting your textbooks-
and now for your "theory" one final exhausting time:
Mass of the atmosphere: ~5*10^18 kg
Mass of the oceans: ~1.4*10^21 kg
energy released in a 1 kt explosion: ~ 4*10^12 joules
heat capacity of water: ~4200 Joules/(kg*degree C)
heat capacity of air:~1000 Joules/(kg*degree C)
energy given to the earth by the sun in 1 second:385,843,200,000,000,000 joules or ~4*10^17 joules- the equivalent to the energy released in 4*10^5 1kt explosions, 400 1megaton explosions _per second_
Now lets make the unrealistic assumption that all energy from radioactives goes entirely to heating up the atmosphere- how much energy would be needed to raise the air temp 1 degree?
Answer: 5*10^21 Joules. ~1.25*10^9 1kt explosions, or 1250 1 gigaton explosions...
Now lets make the slightly more realistic assumption the energy is deposited into the ocean and atmosphere...
to heat the ocean/air combination 1 degree requires ~6*10^24 J- over 1 TRILLION 1kt explosions.
If you seriously think the radioactives released an amount of energy anything near that amount, then please explain to me how we are still alive? The sun gives us 3000 joules pere square meter per second- the energy you need is on the order of 10 million times more than what the sun gives us per second....
THIS is why I say that you have NO sense of scale.... This is why we easily brush off your theory as f'ing stupid!
As many have pointed out your theory makes as much sense as worrying about taking a whiz in lake superior causing a flood- Say you take a 1 gallon leak in lake superior- the lake contains 3*10^15 gallons- so you increase its volume a miniscule, 1 part in 3quarillion...
I post this not to convince you, since you never listen to reason- I post this to just demonstrate to others the depth of your ignorance...
