Rendering software deal
Alias is offering a special trial version of Maya, its red-hot CG software, for free! Normal price: $2,000 to $7,000.
There is a major catch, of course. The files are saved in an oddball, non-commercial format, and all renderings are tagged with a subtle watermark to prevent commercial use.
Still, if someone wants to try their wings with one of the best rendering engines on the market, before deciding to cough up the cash, what better way to do it? I hope other software makers get in on this act.
P.S. It works on Mac OSX too.
If you download it online, bring a lunch. It's like 130 Megabytes
