I'm beginning to wonder if Bush had decided not to deploy troops and just let the U.N. do its thing, if the Chronicle would now be bitching about how we aren't living up to our responsibilities to the Iraqi people.

Hey, I've got doubts about speeding things up too. For one thing, it's a dead-nuts certaintly that at least a percentage of the people they're signing up for security work are Baathist ringers, and that's going to come back and bite us. Hopefully, the non-ringers will spot them first.
