I would have to agree...
And the return vehicle could leave behind in orbit a command module which could be combined with others to expand the habitable space on the space station, or for use as part of a Mars ship, or some other use...
Its insane to "Bring back" the entire vehicle when only a small return module is needed...
I believe China is pursuing something like this.
