re: Astrophotography

Wow!, great work, those cameras are over $10,000 each I believe, nice setup. This guy has been published often.

I just came in from a night of observing. Woke up at 3am to check out Jupiter and Saturn, each showed 4 moons. Colds and lots of dew, I had my dew heater set at medium, that didn't work, had to steal my wife's hair dyer to remove the dew and set the heater on high. Why is it that extension cords are so elusive just when you need one?

Saturn's rings showed decent with the unsteady air, a dark band on the planet, the shadow of the rings was cool and Cassini ring division was all I could make out, low power was my only option for detail.
Jupiter showed 3 bands again only at low power. As usual Orion Nebula was prominent and I finished the observation off with M33 to M38, M44, M46 to M48, M93 and Ceres which I didn't have the patience to see which point of light was moving, burrr and my eyepiece kept fogging.

I took some a focal pictures (first try at that setup) with film. Not sure how they will come out.
