Has been more of a mob and cult than that of reasoned and thoughtful opposition.
Look at how they hang onto the one point: Bush bad -
When the economic news was weak, the chant was 'He has wrecked the economy"
Now that that is proven wrong, it is "he has blown Iraq"...but that does not even stand up to cursory review.
The much smaller than anticipated crowds repeating the jingoistic anti-American, anti-Bush pap is an indicaton that the other aspect of mob frenzy is getting ready to take place: the collapse of the cult.
There will always be hardcore believers in any cult like belief system: look at ufos and the JFK conspiracy. Myths do offer mystery and explanation in life, and for some it is very comforting.
