Nasa's incremental plan. What type of observatories?

As I'm sure most people here are aware, there were some interesting articles this week about an incremental plan Nasa is working on. It would include finishing the space station, launching new observatories and eventually having human missions to the moon, asteroids and Mars. It sounds like a pretty good plan, but I'm wondering what type of new telescopes they're talking about. I'm assuming it would be something seperate from the telescopes already planned for the next ten to twenty years, such as the Planet Finder and others. I know this: If it was the type of observatories that could actually image other worlds instead of just inferring them, then I would be all for it and I suspect the general public would be, too.
