While it's true the L5 society became the NSS, I never had the impression their vision was the same.
It's pretty hard to want to build island One when the Shuttle hasn't proved itself yet (Im talking about 1976).
For many, it's its lack of specific and bold goal that hurts the NSS, but that's what I would rather hear from a space lobby, rather than commit everything to one goal.
