One of the great experiences in life is finding a great author or artist that you had never heard of before.* This happens a lot in comics, since I am not a dedicated comics fan, but just someone who likes certain books.
Today, I found a collection of "Halo and Sprocket" comics. I had never seen an individual issue. The story "Half Wits" was worth the price of the book all by itself. Fortunately, it's on the web, so I don't have to transcribe it. Special bonus story here. (The main site is here.)
Also today: "Autobiographix." Stories from their own lives from some of the best comic authors in the world, some of whom I've never heard of. Illustrated. As Zippy might say, "a must-have, double-bag item!"

*The pinnacle of this experience is finding the author of a great book in a store or a library, and discovering that this person has been writing for YEARS, and there are dozens of books out. This happened to me a long time ago with Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe novels, among others. Hey, how many others out there had never heard of Harry Potter until the third book came out? All right, I know you Brits were way ahead of us there.
New from the comic store...
