Last year in London vs. this year in London

Last year, the euro was very popular in London. There were posters and adds showing prices in euros, and the general talk I heard on TV and and in shops was very pro-euro.
This year, it was hard to even get some euros at the exchange kiosks, and the mood seemed very much less positive.
The news that is mostly missed here is that France and Germany is turning the Euro into something to squelch other European countries with while they continue to ignore the rules of fiscal responsibility the Euro union is imposing on the smaller memebrs of the union.
It seems that in the Euro union, some countries are more equal than others.
There is a decent chance the currency will spike and collapse, and do it fairly soon.
