Christopher Hitchens on Iraq and missiles
Here.
I remember when the SCUD missiles were intercepted, supposedly on the way to Yemen. I also remember doing a little work with a map and a ruler, and discovering that there was absolutely no legitimate enemy target anywhere within SCUD range of Yemen that would justify Yemen owning such missiles.
The fact that Syria was helping to cook up these deals, while simultaneously serving on the Security Council dealing with Saddam's disarmament, says all we need to know about putting the U.N. in charge of dealing with tyrants.
