Supreme Court upholds restrictions on political speech
Cripes.
If ever the First Amendment was clear on something, one would think not restricting political speech would be it. I didn't notice a clause saying "except for people with money," or "except when someone decides it isn't fair."
The press will be overjoyed. Nobody can tell THEM what to say, who to quote, who to ignore, in the weeks prior to an election, while their victims are legally muzzled.
And what about Soros pledging his billions to the destruction of George W. Bush? Where does that come in?
It's okay, because the money is going to an anti-Bush group, instead of to a candidate? How does that make any real difference in the principle?
