1) Iraq was NOT about terrorism
Iraq was about a perceived threat and the support of terror. I have seen enough to convince me that Saddam had the ambition to develop WMD and the pattern of behavior to either use them or give them to someone else. For the record, I put North Korea in the same category, and would not be upset if someone took them out, too. It would be nice if it was someone else doing the shitwork for a change.
2) We have isolated ourselves from the international community
We have "isolated ourselves" from France, Germany and Russia, or to be more precise, they isolated themselves from us. I am continuously amazed that these three nations have apparently now been redefined as "the entire world" or "Europe." Britain, Spain, Italy, Australia, Japan, and many other nations supporting us are also countries, at least last time I looked. Or do we want to cough up the word "unilateral" again?
France hasn't been the center of the world for a very long time. And it isn't now.
3) we supported Saddam
Twenty years ago, in a war with Iraq, at the height of the Cold War. Get over it. On the other hand, some nations were trading with him about thirty minutes before the recent war started. Guess which ones.
4) we also funded bin laden
We supported the people who later became the Taliban in a war with the Soviet Union. We funded a Taliban program to eliminate the drug trade in Afghanistan more recently. We have never directly funded bin Laden.
5) the premises we went to war under were wrong
One opinion. Other people have a different take on it.
6) you and our government never gave A DAMN about the poor Iraqis... I never saw you posting 1 1/2 years ago about how we should free those poor souls...
I never saw the Left or any other nations protesting Iraq's treatment of its people either. And they were the ones who wanted Saddam to stay in power, remember? Or are we going into that strange schizophrenic mode where you wanted Saddam out, but didn't want him removed?
7) the fact is we went to war without reason, Americans and Iraqis are dying because of that.
Iraqis were dying in hordes before we got there. Just quietly, and out of the front pages. Americans are dying because the monsters who want to run Iraq again are shooting at them while we clean them out. That's why it's called a war, and not a tea party.

Yeah, that was in bad taste.
