I think the guys writing these articles for Debka do know a fair bit about the Middle East (they're Israelis after all). I suspect they do have access to some Mossad information that has the quality of low level gossip, e.g. somebody's uncle works for Mossad and said something after a couple of beers. However I believe that most of their information is extrapolation. For example, the puzzle of Iraq's WMDs has been looked at from almost every angle here at the Habitable Zone. It wouldn't surprise me that the folks at Debka are lurking most of the English, Arabic and Hebrew Internet political forums. They probably construct the most interesting political theory that they see on the Internet and then present it as inside information that they got from a priviledged source. Debka should be regarded as idle gossip and nothing more.
