Unexpected 9/11 victims
The firemen (like soldiers and astronauts) form a brotherhood. When one dies, others will take care of the widow and her family. It seems like this story has happened to a number of 9/11 widows and ex-spouses of surviving firemen who felt urged (out of guilt) to take care of their friend's widow a little too much.
Psychological councelling could have prevented this.
