re: Lord Of The Rings
Actually, they shortened the ending of the saga considerably from the book, with an entire sequence missing from the film. In my edition there are still 86 pages and five chapters of story left after the Ring drops into Mount Doom and Sam and Frodo wait for the lava to hit them.
