I'm even worried how unhinged they'll become if Romney wins.
Romney isn't a wingnut zealot, even if he is pretending to be one to get elected. If he is forced to adopt more reasonable and centrist policies, either from necessity or because of his own temperament and convictions, he will be a bitter disappointment to the fascist wing of his party. If they cannot intimidate him into falling into line and meeting their expectations, they will have a ready-made extremist, one much more to their liking, in Ryan, ready to take over.
I fear for Mr Romney's safety.
