Some of Raoul's dismissals of "evil" seem to fall into this category, and it explains a lot about the absurdity of much of Western Europe.

It all comes from a different perspective.
Trying to understand why this group behaves that way, which sounds evil to another group. But the problem with "evilness" is that it's a convenient way not to have to understand (or a way to dismiss deeper issues) , just as death penalty is a convenient way to remove all the other reasons (and others's responsabilities) behind a crime.
When the Belgian paedophile was caught in 1996, neither the police nor the justice system were spared by a commission trying to understand, rectify and punish the system.
